Priesthood:
A Sacred Calling
A priest is a man of prayer, a bridge between God and his people. A man ordained to a sacred ministry, priests serve in a presbyterate, a brotherhood who give their lives in service to the People of God through worship and the celebration of the sacraments.
God’s call is rarely loud or dramatic. More often, it unfolds through the steady movements of the heart: a desire to serve others, a pull toward prayer, or a deep sense of peace when you imagine giving your life to Him.
Through prayer, reflection, and conversation, you begin to recognize how God is inviting you to courageously live out your faith.

The Steps of Discernment
Through prayer, reflection, and conversation, you begin to recognize how God is inviting you to courageously live out your faith.
The call to ordained ministry can grow stronger as you frequent your reception of the sacraments; particularly the Eucharist and Reconciliation, read Scripture, and talk with others who know you well.
If the thought of priesthood continues to surface, even with uncertainty, that may be the Holy Spirit gently nudging you to explore further.
How do I Begin?
If you feel drawn toward the priesthood, it’s good to discern with the Church.
Stay close to the Lord in prayer, frequent the Sacraments and start a conversation with the Director of Vocations.
He’s here to listen, answer questions, and help you take the next steps in following the Lord’s call.
