Called By Name Weekend

Called by Name Initiative National Vocation Awareness Week: November 1-6, 2026 Called by Name Weekend: November 7/8, 2026 Parishes are asked to announce the Called by Name initiative at all Masses the weekend of All Saints Day October 31/November 1 and encourage their parishioners to pray and reflect on individuals throughout the week who they believe may be open to God’s call to priesthood or consecrated religious life within our diocese. The weekend of November 7/8 will be the Called by Name initiative in the Diocese of Owensboro. Parishioners are invited to submit names of those they believe to have the beginnings of a particular vocation using provided pew cards or the form on this website. Names of those received will be invited to an Andrew or Miriam dinner in the Spring with Bishop Medley to pray and learn more about discerning with the church
